As the Black Hawk moves on from its military beginnings, we must continue its high standard of safe operations. This begins with the TC.

Pickering Aviation, Inc. is a family-owned and operated business with forty years of experience with FAA Certification and Production. Since becoming a Restricted TC Holder, we have focused on meeting and maintaining the requirements within the FAA and US Forestry Service to ensure our TC clients can continue to operate.

We continually grow the global reach of our Black Hawks by achieving foreign validations. Our validations currently include Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Portugal. Our priority at Pickering Aviation remains our TC operators, and we strive to set the Black Hawk TC standard.

  • For nearly ten years, Pickering Aviation has continued to grow its support for the Black Hawk Helicopter. 

    Since becoming a TC Holder, we have focused on providing our operators with technical support and developing necessary notifications, such as ASB, SB, etc. 

    Utilizing our International FAA experience and resources, we have established a process to achieve Type Acceptance (validations) in virtually any country that the State Department does not restrict.

    We currently have validations in Australia, New Zealand, Chile and Portugal.

    Pickering Aviation can provide pre-buy inspections, modifications, servicing, repairs, FAA conforming/exporting, and, if necessary, ITAR export approvals for Companies or Government Agencies (domestic/foreign) looking to purchase Black Hawks.

  • Pickering Aviation established an FAA-PMA to offer STC holders access to FAA Production.
    This alleviates STC Holder from the FAA-PMA overhead and FAA involvement.

  • By utilizing Pickering Aviation’s experience with major OEMs and ODAs as well as connections with industry leaders we can ensure your STC project will be in compliance with the FAA and completed in an efficient manner.

    We offer full project management or assistance at any stage of your STC project from the PSCP, CIP, ICA, FMS, Company Conformity, FAA Conformity (DAR/DER), and continued STC management.

  • Warren Pickering, Owner and CEO of Pickering Aviation, has been an FAA Maintenance and Manufacturing DAR (DAR-T/F) since 1999.
    He has worked with numerous aircraft owners, buyers, service companies, and major OEMs around the globe.

  • Pickering Aviation has applied to the FAA and is awaiting the review process.
